Rules

Teams must have 4 consistent players on their roster throughout the season.

Game Mode: Start with :40 of play—shots are worth 2 points, except the final :10 when worth 3. Scoring 40+ earns :15 Bonus Time, with 2-point shots in the first :05 and 3-point shots in the final :10.

Each player can play up to 8 games per week on their Elite machine using six balls.

Top 4 scores per player count toward the team’s weekly total.

Players must toggle “League Play” on their profile at app.popashot.net before playing to ensure scores are tracked.

One video of a full league game, per player, must be emailed weekly for score verification.

The Commissioner’s Letter
— Week 2

From the Desk of Mr. Pop

I want to start by tipping my cap to everyone who fought the elements to get their games in this week. Cold bars. Cold garages. Cold walks to wherever your Elite happens to live. Thank you.

One of my favorite parts of any season is watching the rookies figure things out. Week 1 is nerves. Week 2 is adjustment. And already, we’re seeing some real jumps.

Take Buzzer Beater Anonymous up in Minnesota. They improved by 194 points this week, a serious leap. Unfortunately for them, they ran into a Dudes A Poppin’ team that also found another gear, climbing by 157 points. Sometimes you do everything right and still lose. That’s the league.

Over in Division 1, Pop It Like It’s Hot took a nice step forward, improving by 104 points and clearing the 2,000-point mark for the first time this season. That’s an important threshold, and one they’ll need to live above if they want to stay in the conversation.

But the biggest move of the week belongs to the re-tooled Sip 'n Flip Hoopsters.

1,806 points. 2–0. They’ve already surpassed last season’s win total, and I’m curious just how high the ceiling is over there in Windsor, CO. Whatever’s in the water, I’ll take two.

Looking ahead to Week 3, there are a couple matchups that have my attention, especially in Division 1, where the Hyphy Hoopers take on the Pro Wrestling Tees Slammers. From this old coach’s perspective, both teams are still finding their rhythm and figuring out who they’re going to be this season. Week 3 is a good time to find out.

That’s what this part of the schedule is for. Adjustments. Momentum. And learning who’s willing to keep showing up, even when it’s cold.

Until next time,
Mr. Pop
